The email (in short) said that, if we have any flu symptoms we have to report ourselves online. The email said we do not need a medical note to confirm this.
HERE'S MY PROBLEM:
So many people can report a fake flu. I can go online right now, and say that I have the symptoms, and I cannot finish any of my assignments or write any of my upcoming tests. I feel that many people are going to be using this as their "get out of school for free" card.
At the beginning of the year, some of my classes spoke to us about the possible H1N1 pandemic that is supposed to hit in October. My professors discussed possible alternatives for assignments and exams. One of my professors said that the university will be shut down and everything will be put online.
So how can we prevent this (or something similar to this) from happening?
...
Well first we need to prevent the flu.
I'm thinking many people will take advantage of this as well. I guess we'll see how it all pans out...
ReplyDeleteI've heard about 10 classmates talk about abusing the swine flu form, but so far I don't know anyone that actually has. We all need to keep things in perspective in regards to H1N1. It is a bad flu, but it is just the flu. The graph on Information is Beautiful does a good job of visually depicting the fact that swine flu is just not that fatal to young, reasonably healthy people.
